1. Studies, evaluates and comments on environmental studies by consultants. 2. Conduct Environmental Impact Assessment. 3. Periodically collects data and information related to environmental matters from mines. 4. Conduct physical inspection at the mine site on environmental protection and management activities. 5. Conducts strategic environmental and social assessment for small scale miners. 6. Recommends steps to be taken against mines that fail to implement sound environmental management practices. 7. Assess the progress made by the mines on the implementation of their environmental programs. 8. Trains small scale miners on environmental issues. 9. Conducting due diligence of environmental expenditure declared by mining companies. 10.Directs environmental management research. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY SECTION 1. Accountability in preventing work related injuries, illness and property damage. 2. Provide appropriate OHSE training, information and supervision to all STAMICO staff, contractors and employees. 3. Being accountable in preventing work related illness and enhancing health and wellness programs. 4. OHS management systems to conform to ISO 45001:2018 standards continuously improved. 5. Ensuring promotion of positive OHS culture among employees, subsidiaries, joint venture partners, suppliers and contractors. NOTE THAT: 1. We have HSE supervisors in our projects ensuring all OHSE matters are attained and all Rules and Regulations are adhered. 2. Also pollution prevention and addressing the impacts of Climate change are highly observed in our projects for instance Coal Briquette project reduces the use of firewood hence combat deforestation thus addressing the impacts of climate change. Also briquettes are treated to avoid flue gas emission to the environment.
